The ‘Gyeongbuk Future Life College’ was established in 2023 as part of the university’s Lifelong Education System Support Project (LiFE 2.0). It is a consortium formed by Daegu Catholic University, Kyungil University, and Gyeongbuk Province, centered on a four-year college, to create an adult learner-friendly university culture and support the advancement of the lifelong education system within the university.

Now welcoming its second cohort of new students this year, Gyeongbuk Future Life College provides specialized curricula for adult learners and strives to nurture talent that will contribute to regional community development.

Through Gyeongbuk Future Life College, Daegu Catholic University operates the ‘Life Care Department’ (Beauty Care, Health Food Management, Horticultural Therapy, Korean Language and Multicultural Studies) and the ‘Advanced Industry Department’ (Energy Components and Materials, Future Automotive Parts), strengthening practical education linked to local industries.

The entrance ceremony was attended by over 130 people, including new students, current students, and faculty and staff, during which the university was introduced and key academic and scholarship systems were explained for the new students.

Kim Yong-chan, Vice President of Daegu Catholic University, said, “Failure is part of the growth process, and only those who challenge themselves can experience a wider world,” adding, “Based on the educational capabilities Daegu Catholic University has built over many years, we will do our best to nurture talent needed by the local community.”

Gyeongbuk Future Life College operates various scholarship programs for adult learners. The ‘Special Scholarship for Adult Learners’ provides support of up to 50% of the regular semester tuition fees for new, transfer, and current students, reducing their financial burden to help them continue their studies.

Gyeongbuk Future Life College plans to continue providing high-quality educational opportunities for adult learners and take the lead in contributing to regional community development.
