Reconstructing the Memories of Citizens' Lives
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City announced the publication of the village record archiving book titled 'Daily Icheon Point @Blog Icheon Citizen Digital Chronicles.'
This archiving book was created by the '8th Village Recorders' group, which operated last year, who reconstructed memories centered on their own lives and recorded them as chronicles using blogs as digital archives along with photos. The Village Recorders group consists of eight university students from the area.
The Village Recorders group is operated to ▲collect citizens' records to form social memory and ▲provide experiences that enrich daily life by accumulating precious moments and happy memories in a digital archive through recording activities.
The chronicles have been distributed to the city hall, administrative welfare centers in eup, myeon, and dong districts, and various libraries in Icheon City for public viewing. They can also be accessed on the Icheon City Archives website. Citizens who wish to obtain a copy of the booklet can inquire at the Icheon City Archives.
Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon City, stated, "We will continue various efforts to collect citizens' daily lives and preserve them as a shared Icheon record heritage for all of us."
