Through these initiatives, the city aims to help young people settle down stably and provide new opportunities, establishing itself as a youth-friendly city.

First, the city will focus on creating customized jobs linked to local industries, such as the "Customized Youth Internship Program" and the "Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge Support Project." Through the "Customized Youth Internship Program," 400 unemployed young people will gain practical work experience, and the "Youth Public Work Project" will create 86 public sector jobs for young people.

Through the "Yeosu Industrial Complex Youth Control Officer Program," young people will be hired to work at the integrated environmental and safety control center. The "Jeonnam Youth Long-term Employment Incentive" will provide up to 20 million KRW to young people employed at small and medium-sized enterprises. Aspiring entrepreneurs will receive up to 20 million KRW in business funds and startup mentoring through the "Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge Support Project," and the city will also offer customized on-site consulting for young small business owners.

Housing support will also be greatly strengthened to help young people settle in the region stably. The representative "Yeosu-type Youth Rental Housing Support Project" plans to supply 200 rental units by 2028, and the "Youth Employee Housing Cost Support" project will provide up to 200,000 KRW per month for 12 months to reduce the housing cost burden for young people.

In addition, newlywed couples will receive up to 9 million KRW in interest support for jeonse loans, and the "Basic Birth Allowance Support Project" will be introduced to ease the financial burden on families with newborns by strengthening childbirth and childcare support.

Cultural life and welfare support, such as "Youth Cultural and Artistic Creation Activities" and "Youth Book Purchase Support," will also be expanded. The "Youth Cultural and Artistic Creation Activities Support Project" will create a cultural and artistic complex space for aspiring young artists, and the "Youth Street Culture Festival" will be held so that young people can enjoy culture throughout the region. The "Youth Book Purchase Support" project will help young people with self-development, and programs like the "Yeosu 365 Island Youth Tour Group" will provide opportunities to explore and network on Yeosu’s beautiful islands.

Additionally, the "Youth Culture and Welfare Card Support" project will provide 250,000 KRW annually so young people can freely enjoy performances, movies, and exhibitions. Youth participation in policy-making will also be expanded through the "Yeosu City Youth Participatory Budget Committee" and the "Youth e-Eum Project."

A city official stated, "We are doing our best to make Yeosu a city that young people return to and stay in, rather than leave," and added, "We hope that these youth policies will firmly establish Yeosu as a city of opportunity where young people can nurture their dreams and design their lives."
