Busan National University College of Pharmacy Alumni Late Chairman Jo Sangdo's Family Donates Another 100 Million Won on 10th Anniversary

Donation of 1.5 Billion KRW Establishes Scholarship Fund for Pusan National University College of Pharmacy

Pusan National University (President Choi Jae-won) announced on the 24th that the family of the late Cho Sang-do, chairman of Korea Business Consultant Co., Ltd., made an additional donation of 100 million KRW in development funds at the university headquarters to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his passing. This development fund will be incorporated into the existing "Cho Sang-do Scholarship."


The late Chairman Cho Sang-do had continuously donated a total of 1.5 billion KRW to Pusan National University College of Pharmacy since 2013. He first contributed 200 million KRW in 2013 to establish the "Cho Sang-do Scholarship" and pursued his wish to nurture future scholars, subsequently continuing his donations to reach a total of 1.5 billion KRW to Pusan National University.


In response, Pusan National University unveiled a bust of the late Chairman Cho Sang-do at the College of Pharmacy in 2015 and held a memorial ceremony, reflecting on his deep love and dedication to his alma mater.


Chairman Cho was the first graduate of Pusan National University College of Pharmacy and is known as a senior who loved his alma mater and juniors. This additional donation reflects the family’s intention to honor and continue the noble spirit of the late chairman’s dedication to the development of Pusan National University. The late chairman’s family includes his wife Han In-sook, former honorary professor at Ewha Womans University, his son Cho Yoo-sik, founder of Aladin Communication, and his daughter Cho Su-jin, professor at Hallym University College of Medicine.


The family of Chairman Cho stated, “In recognition of the education received at Pusan National University and the successful life it enabled, the family unanimously decided to continue our father’s legacy through this donation.”


Choi Jae-won, president of Pusan National University, expressed his gratitude, saying, “The life of sharing and spirit of donation of our proud alumnus, the late Chairman Cho Sang-do, are widely known and continue to benefit students greatly, serving as a role model. It has been 10 years since the chairman left us, and even as time passes, it is deeply moving that his family has not forgotten him and continues to make significant donations to our university. We will strive to ensure that the generous donation sent in honor of his noble spirit is used in a more valuable and meaningful way.”
