Briefing Session Held to Secure National and Provincial Budgets

On the 24th, Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held a 2026 national and provincial budget securing briefing session at the Yeongyang-gun Office large conference room, presided over by County Governor O Do-chang, with attendance from heads of departments and divisions, marking the official start of budget securing activities.

This briefing focused on discussing the progress and future plans for securing national budget for a total of 56 new and ongoing projects in 2026, with a requested amount of 123.1 billion KRW.

Major new projects include a total of 21 projects with a requested amount of 19.9 billion KRW, such as ▲ Yeongyang-gun Public Golf Course Development Project ▲ Yeongyang Western District New:Village Project ▲ Seonbawi Tourist Complex Development Project ▲ Yeongyang Birch Forest Development Project. Major ongoing projects include a total of 35 projects with a requested amount of 103.2 billion KRW, such as ▲ Forestry Smart Farm Innovation Complex Development Project ▲ Yeongyang-gun Eastern District Rural Space Maintenance Project ▲ Yeongyang County Park Cemetery Development Project ▲ Vulnerable Area Living Conditions Improvement Project, with plans to continuously request annual project funds.

Governor O Do-chang stated, “Our county, with a poor local fiscal independence ratio, faces difficult financial conditions such as a decrease in local allocation tax. To achieve sustainable development and revitalize the local economy, securing national and provincial budgets is absolutely essential.” He urged, “I ask that all administrative efforts be concentrated on securing national and provincial budgets.”
