[Special Stock] GST Seeks Collaboration with Korean Liquid Cooling Company for Nvidia 'Blackwell' Heat Dissipation Increasing

GST is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by news that Nvidia is seeking cooperation with a domestic water-cooling company to manage the heat generation of its next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) graphics processing unit (GPU) 'Blackwell.'

As of 9:27 AM on the 24th, GST is trading at 22,500 KRW, up 7.91% compared to the previous day.

According to industry sources, Nvidia is reportedly looking for partners in Korea to supply a water-cooling system for its next-generation AI GPU 'Blackwell.'

There are two liquid cooling methods: water cooling and immersion cooling, and Nvidia is expected to use both methods. Previously, in July last year, Nvidia also hired chemical and materials engineering specialists to join its immersion cooling technology team for developing next-generation GPUs and DGX (a specialized server system for high-performance AI and data analytics) products.

Until recently, most IT companies, including Nvidia, have used 'air cooling,' which cools servers with cold air. However, as data centers consume increasing amounts of power and the limitations of air cooling technology have become apparent, the industry is focusing on liquid cooling methods such as 'water cooling' and 'immersion cooling.'

Meanwhile, GST is reported to have started developing immersion cooling since 2022 and has showcased a prototype of an immersion cooling system. Additionally, last year, GST formed a partnership with LS Electric to domestically produce server immersion cooling systems that can maximize data center power efficiency.
