Jangseong County, National Route 24 Jangseong to Jinwon Improvement Project 'Progressing Smoothly'

62.7 Billion KRW Investment Selected for Preliminary Feasibility Study

The long-awaited project in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, the "National Route 24 Jangseong~Jinwon Improvement Project," is set to move forward in earnest.

According to Jangseong-gun on the 24th, the project section stretches 5km from Dankwang-ri in Jangseong-eup to Sangnim-ri in Jinwon-myeon. This area has steep slopes and winding roads, causing significant inconvenience for travelers. In response, the county consulted with the Iksan Regional Land Management Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in July 2022, and in 2023, submitted this section as a candidate for the "6th National and Local Road Construction Plan" to the Ministry of Land.

As a result, in January of this year, the project was selected for a comprehensive preliminary feasibility study by the Fiscal Project Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. With a planned investment of 62.7 billion KRW in national funds to expand the road, the risk of traffic accidents is expected to decrease and transportation convenience will be greatly improved.

Kim Hanjong, the county governor, stated, "As the connection to the rapidly developing Cheomdan 3 District becomes smoother, it will also contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
