Agreement on 'Improving Mobility Convenience for Transportation Vulnerable'... Ulsan City - Disabled Welfare Service Support Association - Taxi Transportation Business Association

Expansion of Mobility Support for Pregnant Women, Infants, and the Elderly
Mutual Cooperation Agreement Signed to Improve Transportation Convenience

On the 24th, Ulsan City will sign a written "Agreement on Improving Mobility Convenience for Transportation Vulnerable Groups" with the Disabled Welfare Service Support Association, the Taxi Transportation Business Association, and the Private Taxi Transportation Business Association.

This agreement was prepared to promote the social participation and welfare of transportation vulnerable groups by mutually cooperating in the establishment and operation of a system in advance, as mobility support services for pregnant women, infants, and the elderly will be expanded starting from the 25th.

According to the agreement, Ulsan City will strengthen administrative and financial support such as establishing plans to improve mobility convenience for transportation vulnerable groups and providing budget support.

Additionally, the association will conduct recruitment, operation, and promotion of voucher taxis, driver training, and satisfaction surveys.

The association will support the participation of affiliated drivers in voucher taxis and actively cooperate in the operation of voucher taxis.

An official from Ulsan City stated, "With the signing of this agreement and the expansion of mobility support services for transportation vulnerable groups, it is expected that the mobility convenience for these groups will improve and the taxi transportation business will be revitalized."

Until now, Ulsan City has provided mobility support services using disabled call taxis (95 Burumi taxis and 300 voucher taxis) mainly for people with severe walking disabilities, but starting from the 25th, the service will be expanded to include pregnant women, infants, and the elderly.

This service supports the use of voucher taxis up to four times a month for pregnant women, infants aged 0 to 12 months, and elderly people aged 85 or older when visiting hospitals located in Ulsan.

Users pay a base fare of 1,000 KRW for the first 3 km and additional charges based on distance (100 KRW per 417 meters at speeds above 15 km/h) and time (100 KRW per 100 seconds at speeds below 15 km/h), with a maximum fare of 4,500 KRW; all other charges are covered by the city.

For example, when traveling from Sinbok Intersection to Samsan Boram Hospital (8.3 km), the total fare of 9,800 KRW is subsidized by Ulsan City with 7,500 KRW, so the user only pays 2,300 KRW.

Eligible users who wish to use the service can register by attaching documents through the Ulsan Transportation Vulnerable Mobility Support Center app and can use the service after approval.

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Ulsan Transportation Vulnerable Mobility Support Center call center.
