Briefing Session on Rural Spatial Restructuring and Regeneration Plan
Held for Over 50 Residents, Including Chairpersons of 17 Eup and Myeon Village Chief Councils
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 24th that it held a residents' briefing session on the basic plan for rural spatial restructuring and regeneration, targeting over 50 residents including the chairpersons and general affairs officers of the 17 eup and myeon village chief councils, at the conference room on the 3rd floor of the County Office's 2nd building.
This briefing session was organized to reflect residents' opinions in establishing a basic rural spatial plan, following the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' mandate to formulate spatial plans due to rural indiscriminate development and deterioration of living conditions.
Hapcheon-gun is conducting a resident briefing session for the establishment of the basic rural spatial plan.
The rural spatial plan is a plan established under the 「Act on Support for Rural Spatial Restructuring and Regeneration」, which came into effect on March 29 last year. It is a mid- to long-term plan spanning 10 years aimed at resolving issues of indiscriminate rural development and economic, social, and environmental imbalances, promoting the recovery of rural areas as places to live, work, and rest, and fostering balanced national land development.
Hapcheon-gun plans to hold a kickoff meeting in November 2024 and begin collecting diverse opinions from all departments of the county, as well as receive expert advice, to achieve rural area restructuring and sustainable development through a comprehensive 10-year plan from 2025 to 2034.
During the briefing session, the main contents of the basic plan were explained, followed by a Q&A session with the attending residents. In particular, local resident representatives actively presented opinions reflecting the key characteristics of the region.
Park Minjwa, Director of the Economic and Cultural Bureau, stated, “We will thoroughly prepare the plan to systematically develop, utilize, and conserve rural spaces so that, by reflecting various opinions and considering the changes in our county’s rural spaces over the next 10 years, we can restore their functions as places to live, work, and rest that suit our county’s circumstances.”
