41 Billion KRW Saved Over Three Years... Strengthening Fiscal Efficiency
Jangseong County in Jeonnam announced on the 23rd that it saved 1,264 million KRW from last year's budget through preliminary contract reviews.
The contract review system examines the appropriateness of budget spending before project initiation to prevent unnecessary expenditures. Last year, the county reviewed a total of 238 projects, saving 1,116 million KRW from 95 construction projects and 148 million KRW from 101 service contracts.
Currently, the county conducts contract reviews for construction projects estimated at over 100 million KRW, service contracts over 30 million KRW, manufacturing or purchase of goods over 10 million KRW, and for construction contracts over 500 million KRW when the contract amount increases by more than 10% due to design changes. The county also closely examines the appropriateness of cost estimates, validity of construction methods, and adequacy of design change amounts to prevent poor construction and improve project quality.
Over the past three years, Jangseong County has saved a total of 4,137 million KRW through contract reviews.
County Governor Kim Hanjong said, "We will continue to manage our finances efficiently so that the county's budget, which comes from the residents' taxes, can serve as a catalyst for regional economic growth and the happiness of our citizens."
