Samsung Display and Intel Sign MOU for IT Sector Collaboration and Joint Marketing

Technical Collaboration and Promotion to Enhance AI PCs
Development of Low-Power, High-Resolution OLED Solutions
Joint Efforts to Lead the Growth of the Next-Generation AI PC Market

Samsung Display announced on the 23rd that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with global semiconductor company Intel on the 21st at the Samsung Display Research (SDR) in the Giheung Campus for cooperation and joint marketing in the next-generation information technology (IT) sector.

Attendees at the signing ceremony included Lee Jong-hyuk, Head of the Large Display Business Division (Vice President), Lee Ho-jung, Head of the Small and Medium-sized Product Planning Team (Vice President), Hans Chong, Head of Intel Sales, Marketing and Communications Group (SMG) Asia-Pacific region, and David Feng, Head of Intel Client Computing Group Client Segment.


Through this MOU, both companies agreed to maximize technological synergy and work together to provide consumers with differentiated user experiences. In particular, Samsung Display plans to develop display solutions optimized for Intel’s cutting-edge processor chips that can enhance AI capabilities, explore new possibilities in the premium laptop sector including high-performance IT devices and AI PCs, and strengthen cooperation with Intel at domestic and international exhibitions to expand global promotions.


Lee Ho-jung, Vice President and Head of the Small and Medium-sized Product Planning Team at Samsung Display, stated, "Through solid cooperation with Intel, which is creating a new future for personal computing, we will accelerate innovation in next-generation display technology, elevate consumers’ laptop usage experience to a new level, and lead the growth of the next-generation AI PC market."


David Feng, Head of Intel Client Computing Group Client Segment, also responded, "We are pleased to collaborate with Samsung Display on groundbreaking visual technologies optimized for Intel processors. Through this partnership, both companies will lead the industry with next-generation AI PCs."


Meanwhile, Samsung Display has been participating in the AI media art exhibition titled "Humans with AI," held by Intel Korea and Samsung Electronics at the Gwanghwamun Kyobo Book Centre Art Space from the 21st of this month until the 31st of next month. Samsung Display supports high-definition OLED and QD-OLED products suitable for AI media art and is conducting joint marketing at this exhibition.


At the exhibition, visitors can enjoy works by AI media artist Kim Won-hwa on a TV equipped with a 77-inch QD-OLED. Especially in the zone comparing Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Book5 Pro equipped with Intel’s AI chip and an LCD laptop, visitors can directly experience the OLED’s feature of significantly lower harmful blue light emission compared to LCD. Samsung Display also participated in an AI convergence media art exhibition at the "News Museum Euljiro Branch," hosted by Intel Korea and Samsung Electronics in January last year.
