Before the full-scale benchmarking, they visited Namwon City Council and exchanged opinions among council members regarding the progress of the Hampau Art Valley project, which is similar to the Yongdang Historic Site District Cultural Tourism Belt project being promoted by our city.
Afterwards, related to the municipal art museum construction project promoted by Yangsan City, they visited the Kim Byungjong Art Museum and examined the preservation status, historical value, and beauty of Gwanghanru Pavilion, a key site of the Hampau Art Valley project. They also toured Jeonju Hanok Village, preserving the value of traditional hanok houses while offering various attractions and food, and observed the operational status of Nambu Market, a traditional market.
Chairman Choi Bokchun said, “The benchmarking in Namwon and Jeonju provided valuable experience that can suggest practical directions for cultural heritage preservation and tourism development in Yangsan City,” and added, “Based on the materials obtained from this benchmarking, we will carry out projects suited to the characteristics of Yangsan City and do our best in legislative activities to provide tangible benefits to citizens.”
