The candidates selected for the primary are Kim Eung-gyu (69), former chairman of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council; Bae Nak-ho (67), former chairman of the Kimcheon City Council; Lee Chang-jae (61), former vice mayor of Kimcheon City; and Lim In-bae (71), former member of the National Assembly.

On the other hand, Kim Se-hwan (63), former vice mayor of Gumi City, and Seo Beom-seok (62), former director of the Kimcheon Agricultural Technology Center, who had applied for nomination, were cut off.

The People Power Party's Gyeongbuk Provincial Party intends to select the optimal candidate through a fair and transparent primary.

This primary is expected to serve as an important opportunity to gauge the future development direction of Kimcheon City and the local public sentiment.

The primary will be conducted by reflecting 50% of the general public opinion poll and 50% of party member votes. Accordingly, candidates are expected to actively campaign to gain support from various sectors.

In particular, the results of this primary are anticipated to influence the future political landscape of the city.

A Gyeongbuk Provincial Party official emphasized, "We will prioritize fairness and transparency in the primary process to gain the trust of citizens and party members."
