For about ten months until November, they will be deployed in teams of two at five vulnerable marine pollution areas in Mokpo to carry out various activities such as marine pollution monitoring and prevention campaigns.
The Mokpo Coast Guard plans to support the smooth operation of the Sea Safety Patrol by providing safety accident prevention training and necessary equipment for field activities.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, "We expect that the activities of the Sea Safety Patrol will not only provide jobs for seniors who are economically vulnerable in an aging society but also greatly contribute to the prevention of coastal marine accidents."
