A Blockbuster with 10 Million Copies Sold
Original Novel Gains Spotlight with Animation Release
Millieoseoje Exclusively Releases the Complete Domestic Edition of 'Toemalok' as an E-book
Reading platform Millieoseoje announces on the 21st that it will exclusively release the entire domestic edition of the occult novel 'Toemalok' as an e-book.
The Korean-style blockbuster occult novel 'Toemalok' depicts the story of four exorcists confronting various evil groups both domestically and internationally. It is a popular work that recorded a cumulative 238 million views during its online serialization. After its print publication, it dominated the Korean genre novel bestseller list, achieving cumulative sales of 10 million copies.
This e-book release is gaining more attention in conjunction with the release of the animated film ‘Toemalok’. The e-book, exclusively available until March 11, features a special cover using the animation launch poster. While maintaining the original story’s settings and characters, the plausibility has been further enhanced.
The film ‘Toemalok’ centers on the episode ‘The Day the Sky Burned’ from volume 1 of the domestic edition, depicting how the four main characters meet. It covers the starting point before embarking on the full-fledged exorcism journey. Notably, the original author, Lee Woo-hyuk, directly participated as a creator, faithfully reflecting the original’s key settings, events, and characters. After watching the film, the author left a review describing it as 'author-certified.'
Lee Seong-ho, head of Millieoseoje’s Reading Hall division, said, “Toemalok is a work that opened a new horizon for domestic occult fantasy, proving its value across genres from web novels to animation,” adding, “It is meaningful to once again highlight the starting point of the 'Toemalok Universe' through this exclusive release.”
