Daedong Robotics, an AI-based intelligent robot company under Daedong Group, announced on the 21st that it has signed a business agreement with Ansan City to introduce agricultural robots.

Through this agreement, Daedong Robotics will supply the agricultural transport robot ‘RT 100’ to enhance the efficiency and productivity of agriculture in Ansan City. Specifically, Ansan City will support administrative and financial aspects for the introduction of robots in the agricultural sector, while Daedong Robotics will be responsible for mobile demonstrations of transport robots for farmers, robot distribution, and promotion of public projects. In particular, a trial group for agricultural transport robots will be operated targeting Ansan City farmers to lay the groundwork for robot adoption.

Daedong’s transport robot ‘RT100’ was developed in two models?wired following and autonomous driving?with a focus on minimizing operation to solve the inconvenience in the fruit market where workers have to continuously operate agricultural machinery while harvesting fruit. Daedong plans to first release the wired following transport robot in February, followed by the autonomous driving transport robot in April.

Yeojun-gu, CEO of Daedong Robotics, said, “Through agricultural robots, we will provide a new agricultural environment that offers solutions to the aging domestic farming population and labor shortages, and improves productivity.” He added, “Starting with Ansan City, we will expand cooperation with local governments for the distribution of agricultural robots and lead the ‘robotization of domestic agriculture.’”
