Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization conducted a familiarization tour (fam tour) for local travel agency representatives in China to attract Chinese tourists.
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that from the 17th to the 21st, it invited 24 representatives from major travel agencies in the East China region (Shanghai, Zhejiang Province, Jiangsu Province) and held a fam tour targeting major tourist attractions within the province.
This fam tour was planned to expand tourism exchanges with China, the largest source of foreign visitors to Korea, and to promote tourism safety.
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization particularly focused on promoting various local contents reflecting new tourism trends and needs preferred by Chinese tourists, such as wellness, outdoor activities, local experiences, and gourmet experiences.

Accordingly, the fam tour included ▲ regional gourmet experiences such as Suwon Wang Galbi in Gyeonggi Province ▲ Peace Nuri-gil DMZ Peace Pilgrimage trekking ▲ Flying Suwon hot air balloon experience ▲ Korean Folk Village folk performances ▲ Everland panda family ▲ Imjingak Peace Gondola ▲ DMZ Millennium Flower Tea ▲ Seohaerang Jebudo Marine Cable Car ▲ Gapyeong Begonia Garden ▲ Gapyeong Italian Village ▲ Gimpo Rice Flower Farmer’s Gochujang making experience ▲ and centered around Suwon Convention Center and KINTEX.
A representative from a Chinese travel agency who attended the fam tour said, "There was some anxiety recently due to the political situation in Korea, but after inspecting the sites directly this time, I gained confidence in travel safety," and added, "It was great to be able to experience various and unique new contents firsthand."
Jo Won-yong, president of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, stated, "Last year, China exempted Korean nationals from requiring visas to visit China, and this year, Korea is reportedly considering visa exemption for Chinese group tourists traveling to Korea. I believe that travel agencies from the East China region, which leads China’s economic, cultural, and tourism trends, will contribute to the development of various tourism products reflecting new needs and the revitalization of tourism attraction by directly experiencing Gyeonggi Province’s diverse differentiated contents this time."
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will focus on promoting the ‘Real Korea Gyeonggi Welcome Campaign’ in the first half of the year to overcome difficulties in the tourism industry caused by domestic circumstances at an early stage.
