Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Shim Jae-guk) announced on the 21st that it opened a new office in Sejong Special Self-Governing City on the 20th to strengthen cooperation with government ministries and enhance its capacity to secure national funding, and has begun full-scale operations.

By opening the Sejong office, Pyeongchang-gun expects to communicate more smoothly with government ministries and effectively respond to securing national funds necessary for promoting major projects in Pyeongchang-gun.
The Pyeongchang-gun Sejong office will carry out functions such as ▲ strengthening communication and cooperation with central government ministries and the National Assembly ▲ supporting project and budget departments for securing national funds and promoting county administration ▲ monitoring government policy trends ▲ serving as a policy response channel.
Additionally, it plans to contribute to effectively promoting major pending projects of Pyeongchang-gun by building a human network with the government and the National Assembly. In particular, it will actively pursue public contest projects eligible for national funding support, such as regional infrastructure improvement, tourism revitalization, and agriculture, forestry, and environment-related projects.
Meanwhile, the opening ceremony plaque unveiling event held at 5 p.m. on the 20th was graced by the presence of Shim Jae-guk, Governor of Pyeongchang-gun, the head of the Gangwon Province Sejong office, and central government officials from Pyeongchang.
Governor Shim Jae-guk of Pyeongchang-gun stated, “We will actively utilize the Sejong office as a foothold for the sustainable development and future strategy of Pyeongchang-gun,” and added, “We will establish solid competitiveness in securing national funds based on the Sejong office.”
