Supporting Green Fundraising for SMEs and Mid-Sized Companies
The Korea Standards Association announced on the 21st that it has been selected as the 'External Review Institution for the Green Asset Securitization Bond Issuance Support Project' by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute.
Possessing specialized external review capabilities for Korean-style green bonds, the Korea Standards Association will, through this agreement, conduct preliminary external reviews including the assessment of conformity to the Korean Green Taxonomy for green projects of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies included in the green asset securitization bonds, as well as the management system of green bonds. Additionally, it will perform post-external reviews until the maturity date after the allocation of funds is completed.
The Green Asset Securitization Bond Issuance Support Project by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute is a project that issues securities based on corporate bonds of SMEs and mid-sized companies that find it difficult to issue bonds independently, supporting their green fund procurement and interest expenses.
As an external review institution for Korean-style green bonds and a specialized institution for greenhouse gas verification, the Korea Standards Association provides various verification and evaluation services to promote green finance. Dongmin Moon, President of the Korea Standards Association, stated, “We will conduct highly reliable external reviews for SMEs and mid-sized companies participating in the Green Asset Securitization Bond Issuance Support Project, and based on this, we will do our best to become a foundation that drives national carbon neutrality implementation and corporate green innovation growth.”
