Pusan National University (President Choi Jae-won) appointed Lee Chae-yoon, CEO of Lino Industrial Co., Ltd., a semiconductor test socket specialist company, as a ‘Global Frontier Researcher,’ a professional advisor to the Pusan National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, on the 20th. Additionally, an MOU was signed at the university headquarters to strengthen industry-academic cooperation between the two institutions.

The appointment and agreement ceremony were promoted to establish a sustainable industry-academic cooperation system and to secure specialized personnel and create a research ecosystem linked to the region’s core industries. In particular, through this industry-academic cooperation, the two institutions plan to build the nation’s top industry-academic cooperation model in the semiconductor and electronic components fields and promote practical cooperative projects to revitalize the regional economy and strengthen industrial competitiveness.

Accordingly, the two institutions will focus on △ creating a sustainable industry-academic cooperation ecosystem through the establishment of an industry-academic cooperation alliance △ nurturing talent by developing and operating customized education programs tailored to industry demands △ discovering joint research and development projects and expanding cooperation in technology development.

The Pusan National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation decided to appoint innovation leaders and experts from the industry as ‘Global Frontier Researchers’ starting this year to strengthen regional industry and global cooperation, further activate the regional-industry-academia-research network, and establish a sustainable cooperation system.

Lee Chae-yoon, CEO of Lino Industrial, who was appointed as the first Global Frontier Researcher, stated that he will cooperate in creating a foundation where local industries and universities can organically collaborate and seek practical research cooperation measures for regional economic development.
