From the 17th to the 22nd of This Month
The Smart Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Team, affiliated with the Korea Institute for Advancement of Small and Medium Technology (KOSIT), visited Hanoi, Vietnam to promote the government development aid (ODA) project for smart factories.

On the 21st, KOSIT announced that it formed a local delegation for the Vietnam smart factory ODA project and visited Hanoi, Vietnam for six days from the 17th to the 22nd of this month. The Vietnamese delegation consisted of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Promotion Team, and the Korea Autonomous Manufacturing Platform Association (KAMPA), and carried out tasks related to the promotion of the Vietnam smart factory ODA project on site.
First, the delegation visited the Vietnam Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) to sign a Letter of Intent (LoI) to strengthen mutual cooperation and reviewed the site for establishing a demonstration demo center. The LoI included contents such as building a demo demonstration center, promoting exchanges of smart manufacturing technologies, fostering the smartization of the agriculture and seafood processing industries, and supporting workforce development in the smart manufacturing sector.
Secondly, they visited the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam to share the current status of the Vietnam smart factory ODA project, discuss promotion plans, and request cooperation. They also met with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Science and Technology Innovation Agency (SATI) of Vietnam to discuss solutions for current issues in the ODA project.
Thirdly, they held a Vietnam ODA project briefing session in Hanoi by inviting Vietnamese SMEs wishing to build smart factories and related organizations. The briefing session was attended by the Korean delegation in Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese MOST, SATI, VKIST, and the Vietnam IT Association (VINASA), among other related organizations.
Fourthly, to strengthen private-sector technology exchange and cooperation between the two countries, two Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed: ▲KAMPA?VINASA and ▲KAMPA?Suan Cau Holdings, and plans for public-private exchange and cooperation were discussed. The MOUs include cooperation on building smart factory solutions and workforce training education.
Lastly, they visited local ICT-based technology supply companies in Vietnam to review technology status and educational infrastructure and discussed ways to implement smart factory solutions suitable for the local Vietnamese environment. Additionally, they visited electrical and electronic manufacturing companies planning to build smart factories to understand the current status of local factory operations and investigate future smart factory solution implementation plans. They also visited Suan Cau Holdings to inspect the data center in the Vietnamese manufacturing sector and discuss exchange and cooperation plans between private companies of both countries.
Team Leader Ahn Kwang-hyun said, "We will continue to make our best efforts to ensure that the smart factory ODA project leads to tangible results through the dispatch of local delegations."
