Gokseong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it is recruiting participants for the "Gokseong-gun Good Morning Walking Walkon" event using a mobile walking app, through online registration via the Walkon app until April 30.


The "Gokseong-gun Good Morning Walking Walkon" project aims to promote a healthy community atmosphere and improve public health, encouraging voluntary and regular walking exercises via mobile devices to help prevent chronic diseases.


Any resident of Gokseong County can participate in the "Gokseong-gun Good Morning Walking Walkon," which aims for participants to reach 80,000 steps between the 1st and 10th of the month. Fifty participants who achieve the goal within the period will be randomly selected to receive a 10,000 KRW mobile Simcheong gift certificate. So far, the Gokseong County community has accumulated 718 members, and the program is set to begin in March.


To join the Gokseong County community, install the "Walkon" app from the Play Store or App Store, and you will be automatically enrolled by joining the "Gokseong-gun Good Morning Walking Walkon" community. If you carry your phone and accumulate 80,000 steps from the 1st to the 10th, you will be automatically entered for a chance to win the 10,000 KRW gift certificate. However, the daily step count is limited to 10,000 steps. For more information, contact the Health Promotion Team at the Gokseong County Public Health Center.


An official from the Gokseong County Public Health Center stated, "'Good Morning Walking Walkon' is a health promotion program that busy office workers and local residents can easily participate in," and added, "Since walking is the simplest way to manage your health in daily life, we hope citizens can recharge their daily energy through small steps."
