House and Warehouse Burn Down, Estimated 7.2 Hectares of Forest Destroyed

A fire that started at a single-family house in Hadong-gun, Gyeongnam, and spread to a nearby hill was extinguished after about four hours.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, a fire broke out at a single-family house in Gojun-myeon, Hadong-gun, at around 3:17 PM on the 20th.
The fire spread from the house to the nearby hill, escalating into a forest fire.
The fire authorities and the Korea Forest Service deployed 27 pieces of equipment, including 9 helicopters, 4 forest fire trucks, 3 water tanks, and 5 pump trucks, along with 69 personnel consisting of 39 firefighters and 30 forest fire fighters, to the scene to extinguish the fire and protect nearby homes.
The forest fire was extinguished at around 7:24 PM, and the house fire was fully put out by 8:35 PM.
A woman in her 50s, identified as Ms. A, who lived in the house, suffered second-degree burns on her face and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The house and a 31㎡ warehouse were completely burned, and approximately 7.9 hectares of forest, as estimated by the Korea Forest Service, were destroyed.
The fire authorities and the Korea Forest Service are monitoring for any flare-ups and plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
