Seeking Solutions to Low Birthrate Issues Together with Ulsan Citizens

Joo Hyung-hwan, Vice Chairman of the Low Birthrate and Aging Society Committee, will visit Ulsan to discuss region-specific measures to address low birthrates.

On February 20th at 1:30 PM, Ulsan City will hold a touring meeting on the low birthrate issue in the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the City Hall main building, attended by the Mayor of Ulsan and about 30 citizens.

This event is part of a nationwide tour of 17 cities and provinces and is designed as a communication platform to derive effective policies to solve the low birthrate problem.

On the day, Ulsan City will announce the "Overcoming Low Birthrate, Ulsan Population Up (UP) Strategy" (?Support for marriage, childbirth, and child-rearing ?Creation of good jobs through active investment attraction ?Establishment of happy residential conditions).

Additionally, as new policies to respond to low birthrates, the city plans to propose ▲Integrated Child Allowance Payment ▲Special Hiring System for Marriage and Multi-Child Families in Companies.

The "Integrated Child Allowance Payment" is a system that provides a monthly integrated allowance per child, combining existing individual supports into a more intuitive and effective support method.

The "Special Hiring System for Marriage and Multi-Child Families" grants extra points to job seekers who are married or have children during employment, fostering a family-friendly corporate culture and creating a social atmosphere to overcome low birthrates.

Under the theme "Low Birthrate, Listening to the Voices of Ulsan Citizens," this meeting will include various groups of citizens such as dual-income and single-income families, multi-child families, multicultural families, newlyweds, and unmarried youth as policy demanders, along with policy suppliers including public officials, public institutions, care institutions, and large corporations, to share opinions and seek solutions regarding low birthrates.

Ulsan City expects this meeting to strengthen the cooperation system between policy demanders and suppliers and contribute to deriving highly effective measures to overcome low birthrates.

Before the meeting, Vice Chairman Joo Hyung-hwan will visit Happy Boat Daycare Center located in Seobu-dong, Dong-gu, to inspect the site and have a discussion with care workers.

Happy Boat Daycare Center, operated by HD Hyundai Group, is a win-win type workplace daycare center that opens its facilities to partner companies, reducing childcare burdens for workers and supporting work-family balance, and is recognized as a leading role model.
