Lee Appears on MBC's '100-Minute Debate'
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 19th, "I believe the Democratic Party's stance and position are around the center-right conservative spectrum."
On the same day, Lee appeared on MBC's '100-Minute Debate' and said, "I think the actual center-left or progressive areas should be taken on by new sectors. I believe that is a part of our society's development process."
Lee added, "I don't know if my expression was too strong, but I became party leader with that mindset. Since the right is completely vacant, I think it is also our role to take on healthy conservatism and rational conservatism."
Earlier, Lee appeared on the YouTube channel 'Saenal TV' the previous day and said, "The People Power Party is not conservative. In reality, we hold a position around the center or conservative level, and the progressive camp needs to be newly established."

Lee emphasized, "Is the People Power Party conservative? I don't think so. They are merely claiming to be conservative. Therefore, I think the Democratic Party should occupy that position, and I believe we have actually played that role to a considerable extent."
He continued, "Looking at the current state, I don't think the Democratic Party's identity has changed. We have never said we should abandon progressive values or the fundamental values we should pursue."
Lee explained, "Right now, growth, conservative and stable values, the restoration and maintenance of the basic constitutional order?aren't these much more important conservative values? That is what I was talking about."
