Applicants Must Bring Application Form, Income Proof, and Other Required Documents to Local Community Service Center
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will provide up to 450,000 KRW monthly in childcare support to young parents in the district.
The Young Parent Childcare Support Project was first implemented in 2022 to reduce the childcare burden on young parents and promote their growth and family stability. It strengthens support for young parents in similar situations to single young parents, addressing welfare blind spots. Last year, the district provided about 8 million KRW to three households.
The support targets households with young parents under 24 years old who are actually raising children. Common-law and multicultural families are also eligible if the child is Korean, with no age limit on the child.
The support amount varies by income level. Those with income below 63% of the median receive 450,000 KRW monthly, and those between 63% and 90% receive 200,000 KRW monthly.
Additionally, the program encourages self-reliance activities. Young parents under 90% of the median income who participate in studies, vocational training, or employment activities receive an additional 100,000 KRW monthly self-reliance promotion allowance.
Applicants should visit their local community service center with the application form, income proof, family relation certificate, and other required documents. Selection is made after strict income verification, and results are notified within 30 days of application. For more details, contact the Gwangjin-gu Child and Youth Division. Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “We hope this support will help young parents who face difficulties raising children and preparing for independence at an early age. We will continue to actively support young parents to reduce their childcare burden and help them achieve economic stability.”

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) has solidified its foundation as a smart city by being selected for the second consecutive year as an ‘Excellent Institution’ in the ‘2024 Data-Based Administration Inspection Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Ministry conducts annual inspections of data-based administration across 679 institutions nationwide and assigns one of three grades based on evaluation results: Excellent (80 points or above), Average (60 points or above), and Poor (below 60 points), to promote early establishment of data-based administration.

Seongdong-gu’s ‘Our Neighborhood Smart Gallery’... Bus Stops Transformed into Exhibition Spaces
‘Comprehensive Public Transportation Information Kiosks’ Display Residents’ and Disabled Artists’ Works, Creating Exhibition Spaces Without Time or Location Constraints
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced the full operation of ‘Our Neighborhood Smart Gallery’ to share residents’ artistic achievements and expand cultural experience opportunities.
The district is promoting various community-based projects that enhance residents’ daily convenience by integrating smart technology into administration. It operates four ‘Comprehensive Public Transportation Information Kiosks’ at bus stops (in front of Seongdong-gu Office, Exit 7 of Wangsimni Plaza, in front of Hanyang University, and in front of Wangsimni 2-dong Community Service Center) providing bus arrival information and major district projects.
Since December last year, these kiosks have been piloted as ‘Our Neighborhood Smart Gallery,’ continuously exhibiting cultural and artistic works by residents.
By utilizing part of the kiosk display screens, the gallery broadcasts works by participants of local cultural and artistic programs and disabled artists, sharing and spreading residents’ artistic talents and creative joy.
During the pilot period, a total of 36 works were exhibited alternately every 15 seconds, including 10 award-winning pieces from the ‘Our Canvas’ contest for disabled artists and 26 works by participants of local art education programs, receiving high interest and positive responses from residents.
From February this year, after the pilot phase, 32 works by students of the Dokseodang Humanities Academy, neighborhood learning centers, and disabled artists from the Seongdong Disabled Welfare Center will be exhibited quarterly. This aims to share artistic achievements with the community, enhance residents’ sense of accomplishment, and broaden the base of cultural arts.
The district will do its best to manage ‘Our Neighborhood Smart Gallery’ as a representative permanent exhibition space of Seongdong-gu, actively collecting opinions from residents and related welfare institutions to consider continuous operation and expansion. Mayor Jung Won-oh said, “‘Our Neighborhood Smart Gallery’ is expected to increase residents’ cultural and artistic experience opportunities and spread the joy of creation. We will continue to strive to implement various community-based projects that enhance residents’ daily satisfaction using smart technology.”
