Macron: "No Deployment of French Combat Troops to Ukraine" Yonhap News

On the 18th (local time), President Macron stated in a meeting with regional media, "France is not prepared to send troops to the front lines," adding, "We are working with the United Kingdom to find ways to integrate and strengthen Ukraine."

Earlier, President Macron sparked controversy last year when he mentioned the possibility of deploying troops to Ukraine. Some countries, including Germany, opposed the idea of France sending troops.

Recently, as the Ukraine ceasefire negotiations led by U.S. President Donald Trump began, the proposal to deploy Western troops to ensure peace has surfaced.

President Macron added, "Getting United Nations approval for Ukraine to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) could also be a solution." He also stated, "I will soon convene political representatives to explain France's position on Ukraine and European security."
