Kim Myunghyun, who murdered an unknown man, abandoned the body, and then used the stolen money to buy a lottery ticket, was sentenced to 30 years in prison in the first trial.

On the 19th, the 1st Criminal Division of the Seosan Branch of the Daejeon District Court sentenced Kim Myunghyun, who was indicted on charges of robbery and murder, to 30 years in prison, which is less than the life sentence requested by the prosecution.

The court stated, "The defendant used the stolen money to make purchases and went to work as usual after committing the crime," adding, "The nature of the crime is extremely serious, and the defendant has not been forgiven by the victim's family, among other factors considered in sentencing."

Kim Myunghyun was indicted for killing a man in his 40s inside a car in a restaurant parking lot in Dongmun-dong, Seosan, South Chungcheong Province, at around 9:40 p.m. on November 8 last year, and fleeing with 130,000 won in stolen cash.

He is also accused of fleeing in the victim's car, abandoning the body nearby, and setting it on fire. It was found that he used the stolen money to purchase items such as lottery tickets.

Immediately after the incident, the prosecution disclosed Kim Myunghyun's personal information, citing the brutality of the crime and the seriousness of the damage.
