Gimhae Employment Center Holds 'Job Demand Day' at Permanent Recruitment Hall
The Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Branch Chief Kwon Gu-hyeong) held a 'Job Demand Day for Starbucks Barista Recruitment' on the 19th at the Gimhae Employment Center's permanent recruitment hall.
'Job Demand Day' means 'a day connecting companies and job seekers' and is operated in various ways at employment centers nationwide according to the characteristics of each region.
This 'Job Demand Day' was held as an event to recruit baristas to work at Starbucks stores in the Gimhae area. In particular, in line with Starbucks' preferential hiring plan for multicultural families, foreign job seekers such as marriage immigrants participated, attracting attention.
For this event, the Gimhae Employment Center actively matched marriage immigrant job seekers registered at the Family Center by collaborating with the Gimhae City Family Center.
According to the Gimhae City Family Center, as of 2023, there are 4,429 multicultural family households in the Gimhae area, with a multicultural foreign population of 35,946, the largest in Gyeongnam Province, and about 100 people use the Family Center daily.
Before the on-site interviews, in collaboration with Inje University Job Plus Center, interview consulting was provided to job seekers participating in the interviews, and the HR manager of SC K Company, the operating company of Starbucks, provided helpful information through a job briefing session before the interviews.
The Gimhae Employment Center has been operating various recruitment events in collaboration with local job-related organizations and has provided job briefings and employment consulting to job seekers participating in recruitment events.
Especially in the first half of this year, they plan to focus on holding recruitment events with excellent local companies and provide wide-area matching services jointly with nearby employment centers.
Branch Chief Kwon Gu-hyeong said, “We will continue to promote demand-centered recruitment events tailored to the characteristics of job seekers and strengthen support for vulnerable employment groups by collaborating with local job-related organizations.”
