Hongseong County to Host 16 Regional and National Competitions This Year... Boost to Local Economy Expected

Manhae Han Yongun Cup Youth Baseball Tournament Marks the Start of the National Competition

Hongseong County, Chungnam Province, announced that it will host 16 regional and national sports competitions this year, officially kicking off its tournament schedule.

The county plans to promote local sports development and revitalize the regional economy through various competitions, starting with the 3rd Manhae Han Yongun National Youth Baseball Tournament, which runs until the 21st, and followed by the 9th Kim Jwajin National Open Table Tennis Tournament, where about 1,000 table tennis enthusiasts from across the country will participate starting on the 22nd.

The series of sports events, beginning with the Manhae Han Yongun Youth Baseball Tournament, will continue in April with the Hongseong County Sports Council President's Cup for various sports, and in May with the 15th Baekya Kim Jwajin National Badminton Tournament. In September, the 25th Hongseong Marathon will be held throughout the county.

Also in September, the 14th Hongseong Premium Hanwoo Cup National Amateur Tennis Tournament will take place, and the 20th National Men’s and Women’s Archery Tournament will be held at the Hongju Sports Complex.

In October, the Yongbongsan National Mountaineering Competition and the National Paragliding Tournament are scheduled to be held consecutively.

Lee Yongrok, Mayor of Hongseong County, stated, "Sports competitions are more than just arenas for competition; they are important opportunities to enhance the quality of life for citizens, boost the local economy, and spread sports culture." He added, "We will continue to host sports events so that many people can enjoy sports and experience the culture of Hongseong, a place with a thousand years of history."
