On the 19th, Asan City in Chungnam Province announced that the main venue for the 64th Admiral Yi Sunshin Festival, held from April 25 to 27, has been moved from Yi Sunshin Sports Complex to Onyangoncheon Station.
This change of location has been arranged to revitalize the local economy.
The city plans to prepare various hands-on events at the participation plaza inside the market and set up corporate promotional booths utilizing the space under Onyangoncheon Station.
In addition, the issuance of the local currency, Asan Pay, will be expanded.
The sales amount will be increased by 25% compared to the previous month to 24.5 billion KRW, and the purchase limit will be raised to 500,000 KRW.
A city official said, "Since the venue has been moved to Onyangoncheon Station, we are coordinating traffic measures between relevant departments for the smooth operation of the festival."
Meanwhile, popular programs such as the rowing competition and the Baegui Jongungil walking event will be held in the direction of Hyeonchungsa and Gokgyocheon.
