Shinhan Investment Corp. announced on the 19th that it will launch a 'Global Unlisted Stock Advisory Service' for domestic companies and institutional investors.
Accordingly, the company will provide advisory services to domestic companies, asset management firms, financial institutions, and private and venture capital firms to secure investment opportunities in overseas unlisted companies and facilitate smooth transactions of held overseas unlisted stocks.
For example, if domestic investors wish to invest in major global unicorn companies such as Antropic and xAI, they can secure existing shares of these companies or receive investment placement through Shinhan Investment Corp.'s advisory service. Even when clients want to sell overseas unlisted stocks they already hold, Shinhan Investment Corp. supports customized services through its global secondary investor network.
Shinhan Investment Corp. initiated this service in response to the recent expansion of overseas unlisted stock investments by domestic companies and institutional investors, while noting the limited accessibility to the global secondary market centered in the U.S. Unlike in Korea, unlisted stocks in the U.S. are actively traded through the secondary market. It is expected that domestic investors' participation in the global secondary market will significantly improve liquidity and capital turnover for investment recovery.
Park Shinhwa, head of the Global Investment Banking Department at Shinhan Investment Corp., said, “Shinhan Investment Corp. has established a localized coverage base through overseas subsidiaries within the Shinhan Financial Group, as well as its U.S. subsidiary and Silicon Valley office,” adding, “The global unlisted stock advisory service will also be operated in close cooperation with the U.S. subsidiary.”
