Enthusiastic Response to Hands-On, Job-Oriented Training

Gwangju Transportation Corporation recently announced on the 19th that it conducted on-site practical training required for obtaining the Class 2 Electric Vehicle Operator's License for 30 students from Songwon University Railway Academy at the Yong-san Vehicle Depot in Dong-gu.
This training was carried out as part of an industry-academia cooperation agreement between the corporation and Songwon University. Field experts, including actual subway train operators of the Gwangju Urban Railway, participated as instructors, providing hands-on programs such as mid-level maintenance tours, track switch operation, and train test drives, which were met with great enthusiasm.
The trainees expressed high satisfaction, stating that they were able to acquire the knowledge and experience necessary for obtaining the essential 'Class 2 Electric Vehicle Operator's License' for railway engineers through vivid, practical exercises at an actual railway site.
President Cho Ikmoon said, "I hope the trainees will grow into talents who will lead the future railway industry based on the experience they have gained in the field," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in enhancing social value through cooperation with the local community."
