Call for Operating Committee Members for 'Gyeonggi-do Library' Opening in October... Until February 27

Gyeonggi Province is accepting public applications for members of the ‘Gyeonggi Provincial Library Steering Committee’ until the 27th of this month.


Established under the Library Act, the Gyeonggi Provincial Library Steering Committee decides on library operations and policy directions, and performs advisory and deliberative functions to provide high-quality library services. The number of members to be recruited is 13, including one member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly.


Applicants must have expertise or extensive experience in related fields such as ▲libraries and culture and arts ▲publishing content ▲climate and environment ▲education ▲library management ▲AI (artificial intelligence) ▲public relations. The term of office is two years from the date of appointment, with the possibility of one reappointment.

Applications can be submitted through the Gyeonggi Province Sori website (vog.gg.go.kr) or by recommendation from institutions or organizations.


However, according to the ‘Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of Various Committees in Gyeonggi Province,’ individuals cannot apply if they are appointed to three or more committees simultaneously or if they fall under legal restrictions on appointments.


Park Min-kyung, Director of the Library Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, urged, "We hope for the interest and participation of capable individuals who can contribute to the development of the Gyeonggi Provincial Library, preparing for the next 100 years."


Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Provincial Library, a space for coexistence and inclusion, a place where people want to stay and revisit, and a public architectural asset of Gyeonggi tourism resources, will open in October in the Gwanggyo Convergence Town of Suwon City.


The Gyeonggi Provincial Library is being constructed with a project budget of 123 billion KRW, covering a total area of 27,775㎡ with four basement floors and five above-ground floors, providing various policies and services for residents. It will also function as a policy library overseeing policies and cooperation among libraries in 31 cities and counties.
