Searches Conducted at Headquarters and Construction Sites
of Primary and Subcontracted Builders
A fire broke out at the construction site of the Busan Banyan Tree Haeundae Resort, resulting in the deaths of six workers. On the 18th, employment authorities conducted a search and seizure operation targeting the police and the primary and subcontracted construction companies.

The Busan Employment and Labor Office announced that from 3 PM on the 18th, they deployed about 80 personnel along with the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency to carry out search and seizure operations at the headquarters of the primary and subcontracted construction companies as well as the construction site offices.
Earlier, a fire broke out at the Banyan Tree Haeundae Complex Resort construction site in Gijang-gun, Busan, at around 10:51 AM on the 14th. The fire was extinguished at 6:53 PM, eight hours later, but during this process, six workers died and 27 others suffered minor injuries such as smoke inhalation.
The Busan Employment and Labor Office stated, "Through this search and seizure, we plan to thoroughly verify the on-site safety measures for fire prevention and whether companies have established safety and health management systems."
