Gochang-gun to Hold 'Youth Policy Idea' Contest Until the 18th of Next Month

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province will be holding a “Youth Policy Idea Contest” until the 18th of next month.

According to the county on the 18th, this contest is designed to encourage young people to directly diagnose local issues and propose innovative policies to bring about real change.

Anyone aged 18 to 45 who resides in or has a living base in the county is eligible to participate.

The contest categories include ▲jobs and entrepreneurship ▲housing and residential environment ▲culture and leisure ▲education and welfare ▲and any other topics related to youth policy. The county plans to collect highly effective policy ideas that can be helpful in the daily lives of young people. Applications can be submitted via email or by visiting the Youth Entrepreneurship Team of the New Vitality Economic Policy Office. A total prize of 2,100,000 KRW will be awarded to participants who propose outstanding ideas. The grand prize (1 winner) is 1,000,000 KRW, the excellence award (1 winner) is 500,000 KRW, and the encouragement award (2 winners) is 300,000 KRW each. The submitted ideas will be reviewed for feasibility and efforts will be made to incorporate them into actual county policies.

The county expects that this contest will serve as an opportunity for young people to directly plan and lead policies, creating tangible changes that youth can truly feel.

County Governor Shim Deokseop said, “We are striving to become a more youth-friendly city by directly listening to the voices of young people and reflecting them in our policies,” and added, “We will do our best to implement youth policies so that young people can nurture and realize their dreams in Gochang.”
