Participating in the Sage Valley Junior Invitational Next Month
Only 60 Top Junior Players to Compete in Prestigious Tournament
Past Champions Include Scheffler, Bhatia, and Niemann
Kai, granddaughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, and Charlie, son of Tiger Woods, will participate in the junior golf tournament held next month.
On the 17th (local time), the U.S. Golf Channel reported that the two players will compete in the Sage Valley Junior Invitational, held from the 20th to the 23rd of next month at Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville, South Carolina. Sage Valley Golf Club, located near Augusta National Golf Club where the Masters is held, is a high-end private golf course comparable to Augusta.
The Sage Valley Junior Invitational is considered a top-tier U.S. junior tournament featuring only 60 elite junior players. Past champions include world number one Scottie Scheffler, Akshay Bhatia (both from the U.S.), and Joaquin Niemann (Chile). This year, players ranked within the top 150, including junior number one Luke Colton through number six, are on the entry list. Charlie, ranked 713th in junior golf, and Kai, ranked 2342nd, were invited to participate as a courtesy from the organizers.
Kai, who will soon enroll at the University of Miami, has over one million social media followers and recently signed an equipment sponsorship deal with TaylorMade. Woods serves as an ambassador for TaylorMade. On the 17th, Kai played golf at the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational Pro-Am alongside his father Donald Trump Jr. and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland). On the final day, he attracted attention by accompanying Woods.
Charlie recently played golf with President Trump alongside his father. Woods has also demonstrated a close relationship with Trump by arranging a meeting between PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and President Trump.
