The Kolon Children’s Dream Camp is an event that selects 6th-grade elementary school students who are exemplary in nurturing their dreams despite economic hardships, awards scholarships, and provides various programs such as career exploration and sports activities to help students find their dreams.

This year, Kkotgwa Eorinwangja selected 30 scholarship students and will provide each student with a total scholarship of 6.6 million KRW over the next three years, paid quarterly. When the student enters middle school, a laptop PC will also be provided. Since the first Kolon Children’s Dream Camp in 2004, Kkotgwa Eorinwangja has selected a total of 594 scholarship students to date, and the total amount of scholarships awarded has reached approximately 2.9 billion KRW.

This year’s Kolon Children’s Dream Camp was held under the theme ‘Children Growing Dreams and Hopes.’ The scholarship students gathered from across the country participated in various programs such as the ‘Happy Sports School’ organized by Kolon Sporex, career exploration education, and the eco-friendly energy education program ‘Visiting Energy School Eco Longlong.’ Additionally, university students who were former scholarship recipients served as lead teachers, supporting the dreams of their junior scholarship students throughout the schedule.

Among the 14th batch of scholarship students selected in 2018, three students preparing to enter major universities this year were awarded the ‘Special College Entrance Scholarship,’ which covers admission fees and tuition. The Special College Entrance Scholarship was established at the 10th Kolon Children’s Dream Camp in 2014 with the purpose of continuously supporting scholarship students who have diligently pursued their studies even after the initial support period, providing 5 million KRW per person. The funds for this special scholarship are separately donated by Chairman Seo Chang-hee of Kkotgwa Eorinwangja from his personal assets.

At the scholarship certificate awarding ceremony, Nam Do-hyung, the main voice actor of the popular entertainment program ‘Heukbaek Yorisah’ (Black and White Chef), attended and gave a special lecture. He conveyed the message, “Do not settle in one field; challenge yourself in various areas, nurture your dreams, and put them into action.” The Kolon Children’s Dream Camp invites figures from various fields who can serve as role models for children every year, providing time for communication and encouraging scholarship students.

Chairman Seo said, “Through the scholarship project, we provide educational opportunities to children from vulnerable groups, motivate them to find their dreams and take on challenges at the Kolon Children’s Dream Camp, and support their growth with scholarships and special scholarships over three years,” adding, “Kkotgwa Eorinwangja will continue to strive to be a strong stepping stone for our children.”
