Gyeonggi-do Saves 26.7 Billion KRW in Medical Aid Expenses Last Year Through Case Management

Gyeonggi Province has been found to have saved 26.7 billion KRW in medical expenses by closely managing 5,085 medical aid recipients who incurred higher medical costs or had longer treatment days compared to their illnesses last year.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that the medical expenses for the 5,085 case management subjects amounted to 83.5 billion KRW in 2023, but after case management in 2024, the expenses decreased to 56.7 billion KRW, a reduction of 26.7 billion KRW (32%). Accordingly, the total medical aid expense savings over the past five years (2020?2024) were calculated to be 121.3 billion KRW.

Previously, Gyeonggi Province has been conducting case management with 105 medical aid managers deployed across 31 cities and counties in the province. As a result of case management, they provide health management tailored to each subject, connect necessary welfare services, and maintain continuous attention to prevent social isolation.
