This is the story of Ludvig Aberg (Sweden). On the 16th (local time), he claimed a come-from-behind victory at the Genesis Invitational, a PGA Tour signature event with a total prize of $20 million, held at Torrey Pines South Course (Par 72, 7,765 yards) in San Diego, California, USA. He shot a 6-under-par 66 on the final day, edging out Maverick McNealy (USA) by one stroke. This marked his second win in 1 year and 3 months since the RSM Classic in November 2023. The winner's prize money was $4 million (approximately 5.8 billion KRW).

He was two strokes behind the leader after three rounds. On the final day, he exchanged two birdies and two bogeys over six holes without reducing his score. After changing the momentum with stepping-stone birdies on holes 7 and 9, he dominated the leaderboard with three consecutive birdies from holes 13 to 15. When McNealy had finished the round at 11-under, Aberg reached the 18th hole (par 5) and secured the victory by sinking a birdie putt of about 2 meters on the last hole.

Above all, his putting was excellent. He averaged 1.50 putts per hole on the final day, an outstanding performance. He wielded the Callaway Odyssey White Hot Versa #1 putter to great effect. Aberg exclaimed, "I had fun playing today," and "I am proud of myself for finishing the tournament with this win." With this victory, Aberg rose to No. 1 in the FedEx Cup rankings.
