At the meeting, chaired by Kim Jusu, Mayor of Uiseong County, the main agenda items included ▲ sharing the status of petition processing ▲ reporting on council operations ▲ discussing petitions and cooperation matters from cities and counties. This was followed by promotions of major events from each city and county.

In particular, petitions related to the introduction of rural stay-type rest areas within development-restricted zones were intensively discussed and approved after thorough review. The matters resolved at this meeting will be forwarded to the central government through Gyeongsangbuk-do and the Korea Mayors, County Governors, and District Heads Council.

Chairman Kim said, “I thank the mayors and county governors who attended the meeting despite the numerous regional issues. We will continue to strengthen the role of the council to ensure that the petitions from cities and counties are reflected in practical policies.”

Meanwhile, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Mayors and County Governors Council operates to jointly respond to regional issues and strengthen cooperation among the 22 cities and counties in the province, with regular meetings held every two months.
