Muan-gun Samhyang-eup Community Welfare Council Discovers Support Programs for Vulnerable Groups

Plans Finalized for Monthly Volunteer Activities and More

The Samhyang-eup Community Social Security Council in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (co-chaired by Oh Eunyoung and Yang Seongmun) announced on the 17th that it held its first regular meeting on the 14th.

At the meeting, the 40 members resolved to develop four projects for vulnerable groups and to carry out regular volunteer activities at least once a month.

The projects include: ▲ "Please Take Care of the Refrigerator," which involves cleaning refrigerators and other appliances for households with mobility difficulties such as people with disabilities and elderly living alone; ▲ "Immunity UP," which involves visiting neighbors suffering psychological distress due to severe illness and social isolation to check on their well-being; ▲ "Let's Run Wearing New Shoes," which provides sneaker coupons to children in grandparent-grandchild and single-parent families who are unable to receive institutional support; and ▲ "Happiness Package Delivery Project," which delivers food packages to vulnerable groups during holidays.

Oh Eunyoung, head of Samhyang-eup, said, "The Community Social Security Council is the focal point of public-private cooperation," and added, "Together with the council members, we will actively look after neighbors who are left in the welfare blind spots."

Meanwhile, the Samhyang-eup Community Social Security Council continues to expand its support project for elderly living alone and its home repair project for low-income families.
