Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong, 14th Regular Meeting of Gyeongbuk Mayors and County Governors Association in the 8th Civil Term Held

In-depth Discussions for the Development of Gyeongbuk Province

The 14th regular meeting of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Mayors and County Governors Council of the 8th Civilian Administration (Chairman Kim Jusu, Uiseong County Governor) was held at 10 a.m. on the 17th at the Cheongsong Confucian Culture Exhibition and Experience Center (Juwangsan-myeon, Cheongsong County).

The regular meetings of the Mayors and County Governors Council are composed of 22 local governments in the province as members and are held sequentially every two months at local governments in Gyeongbuk Province.

At the 14th regular meeting of the 8th Civilian Administration, 21 mayors and county governors, including the Cheongsong County Governor, attended. The meeting was presided over by Chairman Kim Jusu following a welcoming address by Cheongsong County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee.

At the meeting, the results of the "Research Service to Strengthen the Efficiency of Local Administration" were presented, and the responses to the proposals made to central government ministries and Gyeongbuk Province at the previous meeting were reviewed.

The main agenda items included discussion of two proposals to central government ministries, such as the "Introduction of Rural Stay-type Rest Areas in Development Restriction Zones," followed by promotion of major pending policies of various cities and counties.

After the regular meeting of the Mayors and County Governors Council, the 1st Gyeongbuk Provincial Government Cooperation Meeting, hosted by Gyeongbuk Province, was held. A "Joint Agreement for the Formation and Operation of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Local Government Cooperation Meeting" was signed, and the "Joint Resolution of Gyeongsangbuk-do Local Governments for the Successful Hosting of the 2025 APEC Summit" was adopted.

In his welcoming remarks, Cheongsong County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, “It is meaningful that the 14th regular meeting of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Mayors and County Governors Council of the 8th Civilian Administration is being held in our oxygen cafe, Cheongsong County.” He requested the active interest and support of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Mayors and County Governors Council for the expansion of the distribution of “stemless apple distribution,” a key project promoted to enhance the competitiveness of Cheongsong County’s major industry, the apple industry. He also said, “Let us cooperate with one heart for the development of Gyeongbuk Province, seek ways to coexist and grow together by leveraging the unique characteristics and strengths of each city and county, and unite the strength of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Mayors and County Governors Council.”
