Busan Gijang-gun Holds 'National and City Fund Project Discovery Report Meeting'... 24 Projects Worth 52.5 Billion Won Discovered

Driving Force for Major Pending Projects

On the 17th, Gijang-gun, Busan, held the '2025 1st National and City Fund Discovery Report Meeting' and is actively working to secure funding for the smooth promotion of major projects in the 8th local government term.

At the report meeting, a total of 24 projects discovered by Gijang-gun amounted to approximately 52.5 billion KRW. Major projects include ▲ Gijang Drive Tourism Scenic Spot Development (70 billion KRW national fund, 35 billion KRW city fund) ▲ Revitalization of Commercial Area around Gijang Market (50 billion KRW national fund, 25 billion KRW city fund) ▲ Banggok District Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project (46 billion KRW national fund, 23 billion KRW city fund), among others.

In particular, the county plans to focus administrative efforts on discovering additional public contest projects and national and city fund projects related to ▲ regional economic revitalization ▲ ensuring citizen safety to prevent disasters ▲ discovering future growth engines to achieve visible administrative achievements.

County Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, “We will continue to discover new projects that can promote regional development,” and added, “To ensure that the discovered projects are finally selected, we will frequently visit central government departments, the National Assembly, and Busan City to build a preliminary consensus on projects essential to our county and strengthen cooperation with related organizations.”

Based on the projects discovered in this first report meeting, the county plans to actively respond to various public contest projects and hold a second report meeting in March to discover additional new projects suitable for the county’s circumstances and to strategize budget acquisition.
