Step-by-Step Health Walking Project, Expanded Support for Pregnancy and Childbirth
Abolishing Age Restrictions on Infertility Treatment Costs for Couples
Jangseong County in South Jeolla Province is operating customized health services and health management programs for its residents.
According to Jangseong County on the 17th, this year it will implement the "Step-by-Step Health Walking" project. For this project, participants install a smartphone app and receive various gifts if they achieve a set number of steps within a designated period.

Policies for pregnancy and childbirth have also been expanded. The number of pre-marital health checkups for newlyweds and engaged couples has increased from once to three times, and women are supported with up to 130,000 KRW and men with up to 50,000 KRW for each of the three checkups. In addition, the government-funded infertility treatment support has removed age restrictions and changed the number of supported procedures from 25 times per woman to 25 times per childbirth.
A new project, the Jeonnam-type infertility treatment support, has also been launched. For vasectomy reversal procedures, up to 500,000 KRW is provided, and for tubal reversal procedures, up to 1,000,000 KRW is supported for out-of-pocket expenses.
The pilot project for pediatric dental home doctors, which started last year, allows children to visit registered dental clinics for oral checkups, dental care education, and fluoride application. The eligible grades have been expanded from first and fourth graders in elementary school to first, second, fourth, and fifth graders this year.
The "Dementia All-Care Safe House" project, utilizing the Hometown Love Fund, is also being launched. This project provides comprehensive support such as cleaning, installing non-slip mats, and attaching safety bars so that dementia patients can live safely and comfortably. Procedures for social security system consultation are currently underway.
In addition, new projects such as metaverse performances for smoking prevention education for children and the expansion of hypertension and diabetes registration and education center programs will be promoted.
County Governor Kim Hanjong said, "We will generously support the healthy lives of our residents to make Jangseong a city where people want to live, with happy daily lives."
