Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Yoon Supporters' Break-in at Chinese Embassy: "Communicating with Local Police to Prevent Recurrence"

Amid the recent incident where a supporter of President Yoon Suk-yeol trespassed into the Embassy of China in Korea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on the 17th that it is "closely communicating with the Embassy of China in Korea and the local police to prevent similar incidents from recurring."

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the same day, "This is a matter currently under police investigation." Additionally, the official added, "The government has been continuously engaging in exchanges and communication with the Chinese side in various fields to enhance friendly sentiments and mutual understanding between Korea and China."


Earlier, a man in his 40s, identified as Ahn, a supporter of President Yoon, was arrested on the spot by police on the 14th for attempting to enter the Embassy of China in Jung-gu, Seoul without permission. It was reported that Ahn was wearing a costume similar to the Marvel character 'Captain America.'


Regarding this incident, the Chinese Embassy reportedly conveyed its concerns and regrets to the Korean government.
