The Platform Will Be Provided Free of Charge
to Service Recipients for the Next Six Months
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 17th that it has signed a business agreement for a pilot project to provide AI-based mobile elderly care services together with NHN's senior care specialized subsidiary ‘Waflet’ and four elderly customized care service providers in Gangbuk-gu (Seoul Gangbuk Senior Welfare Center, Dream Forest Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Seoul Gangbuk-gu Home Care Senior Welfare Center, Beonomaeul Comprehensive Social Welfare Center).
This agreement was promoted to provide various additional contents for the elderly along with non-face-to-face care services. According to the agreement, NHN Waflet will provide its developed ‘Waflet Public’ platform free of charge for six months from March to September this year to 100 elderly customized care service recipients in Gangbuk-gu.
The platform offers various functions including health management for seniors (medication reminders, health consultations), leisure activity support (radio, fortune-telling), and emergency alert services to support the daily care of the elderly. Elderly customized care service life support workers can efficiently check the well-being and safety of the elderly through the platform. The district will decide on formal adoption based on the satisfaction evaluation results of the pilot project.
Mayor Lee Soon-hee said, “We expect this to be an opportunity to further develop elderly care services by collaborating with private information technology (IT) to solve the problem of a shortage of care personnel due to aging and the increasing social cost burden.”
