In accordance with the ‘Enforcement Rules of the Act on the Prevention and Management of Infectious Diseases,’ this disinfection, which is carried out five times a year, will create a pleasant environment in vulnerable areas such as classrooms, drains, and habitats of harmful insects.
For the 241 public schools subject to disinfection, 15 professional disinfection companies selected by the Office of Education will perform sterilization and pest control disinfection.
To ensure smooth and safe disinfection, the Office of Education will check the use of disinfectants approved by the Minister of Environment, the wearing of protective clothing and goggles, and the use of disinfection methods recommended by the Ministry of Environment.
Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, “We will do our best to create a pleasant environment in all spaces where students stay so that schools can become places where children’s bodies and minds remain healthy.”
