Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 17th that it has signed a detailed tourism cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its Japanese sister city, Okayama City, including discounts on tourism facility usage fees.
Under this agreement, Bucheon citizens will receive a 50% discount when using tourism facilities in Okayama. The discounted facilities include 10 locations such as Okayama Castle, Inujima, museums, and hot springs. To receive the discount, visitors must show their resident registration card or driver's license at the local facilities.
Bucheon City also plans to offer discounts on usage fees to Okayama citizens visiting six locations, including the Natural Ecology Park, Supia Lake Botanical Garden, and the Korea Manhwa Museum. Detailed information about the facilities and discount rates can be found on Bucheon City's official website.

Okayama City, where history and nature blend harmoniously, is a representative tourist destination in Japan. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by plane from Incheon International Airport, with direct flights operating four times a week.
Bucheon City expects this agreement to serve as an opportunity to increase exchanges with Okayama City. Jo Yong-ik, Mayor of Bucheon, said, "As interest in traveling to small Japanese cities has recently grown, this is a great opportunity to widely promote Okayama City," adding, "I hope the two cities will expand their exchanges by experiencing each other's cultures."
