Disaster Response, Crime Prevention, and Counter-Terrorism Activities
Soonchunhyang University announced on the 17th that it established the Drone Security Strategy Research Institute at the university's Engineering Building on the 10th.
The institute aims to conduct security research utilizing drone and counter-drone technologies in public sectors such as police, fire departments, and national defense, as well as to foster specialized professionals.
The university plans to build a national drone security consortium in cooperation with more than 20 companies and research institutions, and to strengthen drone security systems for disaster response, crime prevention, and counter-terrorism activities.
The consortium will expand practical education and research in collaboration with police, fire, and defense agencies, and support drone-based demonstration experiments and technology development.
Lee Byungseok, head of the research institute, stated, "We will lead future social innovation through the convergence of drone and AI technologies."
